Possible ancestor or close kinsman of Rev. John Hindman (b. 1720) of the same London Grove Township Chester County PA. John Hindman Sr. was part of the 1715-onwards Scotch-Irish migration wave to lower Western Pennsylvania. He operated a haberdashery in London Grove with over 1,200 yards of fabric in his 1742 probate inventory. Closely associated with Faggs Manor Presbyterian Church. Children: Isabella (b. 1703) who emigrated to PA and married David Ramsey; Samuel (~1710) and James who both remained in Northern Ireland; John Jr. (~1715) who emigrated to PA and married Hannah. John Sr. himself returned to Ireland around 1739 and died there before November 1741. Rev. John Hindman of our direct trunk (b. 1720 Ulster, d. 1789 Chester Co PA) is likely a son or grandson of Samuel or James (the brothers who stayed in Ireland), who later followed his American cousins to the same London Grove community.
