Per FamilySearch, also had a son with a woman named only as 'Harding' — that son is Joseph Hardin (b. 1750), Brant's 6th-great-grandfather. The Hardin surname in Brant's line appears to derive from this mother's surname (Harding > Hardin) rather than being inherited from his father Joseph Combs. Died 1808 Fauquier County VA, age 83.
