Joseph Combs Sr.

Joseph Combs Sr. (c.1670-1756) of Aquia Creek Stafford County Virginia. Patented 2,500 acres on Aquia Creek, Beaver Dam Creek, and Long Branch 1725-1741. Per HHH Y-DNA project, he is the DEEPEST DOCUMENTED PATRILINEAL ANCESTOR of the Hardin/Harding cluster including our Joseph Hardin of Loudoun. The non-paternity event happened in 1720 when he fathered William Harding (1720-1798) by an unknown Harding woman; William carried his mother's surname forward. So genetically Brant's paternal Hardin line is Combs back to ~1670. Joseph Combs Sr.'s own parents and English origin are not documented per combs-families.org.
