Born circa 1586 Bradford Yorkshire England, son of Edward Bolling of Bradford and Jane Magdalene Greene of Horsforth. Saddler and silk throwster in London; owned five throwster mills per his will. Married Anne Clarke 1614 London. Five children: Thomas (1607), Edward (1615), John (1620, our line), Anne (1622), Robert (1625). Died at All Hallows Barking by the Tower London before 7 September 1639. His older brother Tristram Bolling inherited the smaller Chellows estate; Robert moved to London. The main Bolling Hall estate had passed out of the family in 1497 when Rosamund Bolling married Richard Tempest.
