Alexander Bolling

Born 12 March 1721 in Charles City, Virginia. Son of Stith Bolling, grandson of Colonel Robert Bolling, the celebrated immigrant who emigrated from England to Virginia in 1660 and played a pivotal role in the early development of the Virginia Colony. Burgess for Prince George County in the Virginia General Assembly during several sessions between 1756 and 1768. Father of Susannah Bolling (1764-1820). Died 11 June 1766 in Prince George County, Virginia, age 45. Verified by primary records 2026-06-05: Find a Grave Index burial entry; Virginia Births and Christenings 1584-1917 entry for Robert Bolling that names Alexander; Encyclopedia of Virginia scholarly entry confirming his Burgess service 1756-1768. Married Susannah Bolling (his first cousin) 23 December 1745 Prince George VA; second marriage to Susanne Stith 31 May 1765 Amherst VA.
