Born 1647 in England. Emigrated to the Virginia Colony in 1660, age 13, and rose to become a Colonel in the Virginia Colonial Militia, a major tobacco planter, and a founder of the Bolling family in colonial Virginia. Married twice. First wife: Jane Rolfe (1655-1676), granddaughter of John Rolfe and Pocahontas; one son John Bolling (1676-1729) — this is the 'Red Bolling' line of documented Pocahontas descendants. Second wife (after Jane's death): Anne Stith (1660-1722); multiple children including Stith Bolling (1686, Brant's direct ancestor) — this is the 'White Bolling' line. Died 1709 in the Virginia Colony. Wikipedia + WikiTree Bolling-34 (the standard public reference for Col. Robert Bolling) document his birth at Tower Street, All Hallows Barking parish, London, on 26 December 1646, and his Virginia immigration on 2 October 1660 at age 14. The Bolling Family Genealogy at the Library of Virginia and the Encyclopedia Virginia entry confirm his status as founder of the Virginia Bolling family. Pending: original Virginia colonial land patents and his proven will at Henrico Co or Charles City Co VA.
